Sirui PH-20 carbon-fiber gimbal head with 120 mm plate

When to choose it
The PH-20 gives a long-lens photographer separate controls for rotation and tilt. Use the adjustable height platform and the position of the plate to balance the lens and camera together. The scale markings help when you rebuild a known setup after traveling.
The supplied 120 mm Arca-type plate gives the lens foot room to shift while you find its balance point. Before buying, check the lens collar's attachment and whether the camera and lens clear the curved arm through the angles you use. Match the 3/8-inch mount under the head separately.

Fit and buying advice
Use the PH-20 model reference. The PH-10 is a separate head, so compare its plate and working clearance rather than transferring the PH-20 specifications.
Care Follow the Sirui instructions to find the balance point while supporting the lens. Check that the quick-release lock is engaged before moving the rig.

Questions about this accessory
Why does the plate have extra length?
It gives you room to move the lens foot along the receiver until the rig sits closer to its balance point.
Should I buy a gimbal for a small camera without a collared lens?
A ball head is generally simpler if the camera is fitted directly to a short lens and you reframe without balancing a long rig.
Can I retain the settings after removing the lens?
Record the height and plate positions, then recheck balance if the camera, lens or attached equipment changes.
