Sunwayfoto DDC-42L long-knob screw clamp

When to choose it
The DDC-42L keeps the 42 mm jaw designation but uses a longer control shaft. Compare it with the DDC-42i when the mounting point is close to a broad platform or another control. The added reach can help if your hand cannot reach a short knob after installation.
Sunwayfoto lists a 3/8-inch mounting hole for the DDC-42L. Verify the support thread and how far the knob extends to the side, especially if the tripod packs with the clamp attached. Match the upper dovetail to your plate separately.

Fit and buying advice
Choose by the L suffix and check the clearance on the actual support. A longer knob changes how much room you need at the side.
Care Test knob travel on the unloaded support before inserting the camera plate. Confirm the jaws retain the plate.

Questions about this accessory
Is this the same as DDC-42i?
The L model is the extended-control version. Check its mount separately instead of transferring the i model's thread specification.
Does the longer knob change plate fit?
It changes access to the control. Still verify the plate and jaws together.
When is a shorter knob preferable?
Compare a shorter knob when a compact packed shape matters and your hand can already reach the clamp.
